🌻🍃🍅 No. 6: On the Theme of Excess 🍃 #100GardenHacks

I am working on a project for the 2017
growing season to work my way through
100 garden hacks*.

On the Theme of Excess

The summer holidays and events left us with a severe excess of leftover beer this summer, and after a few weeks this cache of quantity-not-quality beer has still not died down.

After discovering some good friends also had their own battle of leftover brews and enlisted our help to dwindle the supply, I decided  to find alternative disposal methods.

Some quick uses to help clear the fridges included:

Using beer to soak beans

  • cleaning vitreous enamel surfaces (e.g. toilet & enamel sink)
  • marinating meats and vegetables:
Clam Bake

SAMUEL ADAMS® SUMMER ALE URBAN CLAMBAKE

  • And discovering this phenomenon is a very common problem: 10 Things You Can Do With Leftover Beer - I took note of idea 9, using the bottles or cans in a gift basket or other decorative garnishes to a party plate or #10 in a summer gift basket.
